Norwegian Wood
Norwegian Wood Beatles Song
Norwegian Wood refers to a song by The
Beatles that was first published on their 1965 album "Rubber
Soul".

The song is officially credited to John Lennon/ Paul
McCartney, but it was mostly written by John
Lennon. Paul McCartney contributed to the middle eight
section. "Norwegian Wood" is the first example of a rock band
using a sitar in one of their songs. The sitar was
played by George Harrison. Norwegian Wood is a lilting
acoustic ballad featuring Lennon's lead vocal and it contains
signature Beatle harmonies.
Norwegian Wood Music Festival
The song had influences outside of the album: The
Norwegian music festival Norwegian Wood, which
takes place in Oslo, is named after the song. The
festival takes place in Frognerbadet, near Frognerparken
(the Vigeland Sculpture Park) in Oslo, Norway.
